EB500 question for Parallax

Hi! I read over the available information about the EB500
Transceiver. It seems as if it might do what I want.
The documentatiion mentions an EB600 PC adapter, which I have not
found on the Parallax site. Do you have this item? If not, can you
tell me where to get it and its price? Or is there another work around?
I want to connect my PC to another device that uses RS232. Will the
EB600 facilitate this, or will the EB500 connect directly to the
remote device? Eventually I want to communicate with a Jevelin
instead of the above mentioned device, although the Jevelin will talk
to said device directly.

Thanks for your patience - I have been in contact with A7 so we could
collaborate on a response.
Just to clarify a bit, the current EmbeddedBlue Transceiver AppMod
(eb500 / #30068) module is designed to connect with a device supporting
5V CMOS or TTL line levels such as the BASIC Stamp. The eb600 is an
RS232 interface board that allows the eb500 to be connected to an RS232
DTE device such as a Windows PC. In addition to providing RS232
interface support, the eb600 also will come with software for performing
eb500 firmware upgrades.
If your RS232 device only requires the transmit, receive, RTS, and CTS
signals you should be able to use the eb500\eb600 combination for
communicating with it. The only caveat is that this will be a passive
device requiring a connection be made to it from your PC or Stamp. The
reason for this is that if your RS232 device is not a micro, there is no
logic there to tell it to make an outgoing connection.
A7 Engineering will also be releasing two new EmbeddedBlue models in
late Spring or early Summer that will support RS232 directly. The eb501
is a connect to DTE (like the PC) and the eb502 is a connect to DCE
(like the Board of Education). When these devices are available they
would provide an alternate solution for your RS232 device and will
communicate with either a PC Bluetooth stack or the eb500 connected to a
Stamp.
The eb600 has not yet been released, but it should be available from
Parallax in March. The retail price is $99 and it comes with everything
that you need to get started including a 6 foot serial cable, a small
high quality 5V wall transformer, a manual for the PC upgrade utility,
and a CD with all software and documentation. Parallax will make an
announcement to the group when the eb600 is available.
We hope that this information is helpful.
