Hi all,

I'm looking for some data on FreqOut

I noticed there was an article on it, but cannot find the article.

Maybe I'm just having a bad day searching, but can someone point me
towards more information regarding FreqOut ?

Dave

Did you try the help menu of the basic stamp editor. launch the help menu
and click on INDEX. type FREQOUT

    this should help somewhat...

What do you want to know, Dave.

There was a nut-n-volts article that went in-depth on FreqOut. I
have not used this command and wanted more information on it for a
project that might benefit from it's use.

Freqout lets you send a certain frequency
for a certain time. Typical values (BS2)
are 40 KHz for 1 mSec. BS2sx can send
shorter amounts of time (400 uSec).
The BS2p can send even shorter times.

    This is useful for:
    1. Outputting SONY IR pulses (40 KHz for
    1.2 mSec is a '1', 600 uSec is a '0')

    2. Sound.

    3. Using their IR board as a simple ranging
system. It turns out a 40 kHz receiver has
    different sensitivities when receiving
36 KHz, 38 KHz, etc. So you can send 4
pulses at different frequencies, and sample
the IR Reciever to see if it triggered.

    4. 'Bot to 'Bot communication. One Bot can
send a 1 mS 40 Khz Freqout out an IR LED.
The other 'Bot can recieve this on a 40 KHz
IR reciever using 'PULSIN' to determine the length
of the pulse. You then use long (1 mSec) and
short (2 mSec) pulses to send data.
