Does anyone Have Schematics Of hooking up relays to the inputs and
outputs to the basic stamp, ??
outputs to the basic stamp, ??
Comments
I cut and pasted this out of the stampsinclass message board. It may
answer your questions. There are some other responses to the relay
question also. Look in the January '04 postings.

Mike

Figure your coil voltage and current.
select a darlington, Pn2222 or TIP120, to drive it. The TIP120 has
an internal diode so that helps, but is a larger TO220 package than
the T092 of the 2222.
inputs ?
1,000 ohms from the 5V to the contacts then back to your input pin.
change the parts to fit your needs, but the transistor takes the 5V
and 'swithces' the relay coil voltage. The relay CONTACT voltage is
isolated so if you have 1 volt or 1,000 volts the Stamp never sees it.

You don't hook relays to the input/output pins a Stamp - you will blow it.
You have to go via a shift register or a Darlington.

If you use the above circuit will will have to add a clamping diode.
