In my liquid filler machine I'm going to add a container counter in the
program. So how can I save the last number of the container in case of power
failure. Is there any idea without using rechargeable battery.
Thank You
Mohamed Refky

I found such idea in circuit based on AVR microcontroller ( LCD counter with
memory backup )
http://www.serasidis.gr/
The idea is :
1- Monitoring the power supply voltage by arranging a voltage divider.
2- The processor will use a stored charge in a capacitor to save the counter
number if power is
failed.
A diode is used to charge the capacitor so that no current will go back
to the supply line.
Basic stamp require 7 mA running current,so can the capacitor keep the
charge enough time for the stamp to save the number ?
