I am looking for an IC H bridge that can handle at least 1.5 amps continuous.
Does any one have any experience or recommendations?

Check the specs on mosfet drivers. These can be controlled by 2
inputs and will control 2 outputs.
Digi-key has a simple search just put in -> mosfet driver
2 amps is not uncommon.
Also, it you want to roll your own, you can google H-bridge and find
a lot of schematics.

The following three chips may be suitable, check out the data
sheets. Personally I have only had experience with the 298 and I
feel it is a good chip for use with the stamp.

The L298N can do that. We have a nice little kit with a circuit board
and all components (The L298 chip needs a circuit board due to its
unusual pinout):

The chip is also available separately, if you prefer.

Thanks everyone this is just what I was looking for.

Iam right now using set of 5 LM18200 with very good amperage
rating..., they are very good, but these chips don't come with
standard pin spacing...
