Appmod connectors

Hi Everyone,

I want to build my own modules that plug into the Appmod port on the
BOE but I'm not sure what type of connector to use. I'd be soldering
the connections myself and the problem then becomes how to solder the
connector in place so that I still have access to the terminals on
bottom side of the board and so my mini boards can plug right in to
the port neatly and cleanly. I've never actually seen a Parallax
Appmod board so I don't know how they do this.

The idea is that I have many small modules that I have built that I
would like to make permanent and rather than constantly keep
breadboarding and unbreadboarding my circuits, I can just plug in
whatever module I want to use. Any ideas? Thanks.

-Dave

Your best bet is to buy one of the blank AppMod boards from Parallax so you
can see how they do it. I ordered seval blanks, built up my own AppMods that I
can plug in when I want. I also made two AppMod boards from some scrap PCs I
had on hand - I bought the comnnectors from Parallax.

As far as I know they still have the blanks boards - and as far as I am
concerned that is the way to go. What I made up didn't look nearly as nice as
    what
Parallax did, and without the silkscreening to identify all the connections,
it is easy to get into trouble. I know.

    Hi,
I build and etch my own appmod boards. I use
    connectors from jameco.com. Male headers,part#
    53479,female part# 70826

    Good Luck,
    Curtis
