Hi All,
I can't seem to get a 24FC256 EEPROM working. I can't find any code examples
specifically for this device, but it ssems as if code for the 24LC256 should
work. I have tried two different code examples, and all I get is 0 or 255
when I try to read, depending on which program. I have a program for a BSp,
so maybe I'll hook one up and try it, but I want to use a 2sx on this
project.
BTW, is there anyway to search the N&V articles?
Thaks, and a good new year to everybody!

I've connected a stock BS2 to a 24LC256 so I can't imagine the FC
version (which seems only to differ in the upper end of buss speed)
won't work. You can get access code from this N&V article that will run
on the BS2sx:

Happy new year! Did your clock count down ok? Were you awake to see it ;-)?
Thanks for the NV link. Oddly, cutting and pasting from this PDF seems
screwy. It all pastes to the right. I would have to past it line by line. Is
this code kicking around anywhere in .bas format on the Parallax site?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Using the menu bar, GOTO Downloads --> Nuts & Volts Columns and look for
the article; it's in Volume 3. You can download the PDF and the code
(usually zipped).
And yes, my New Years countdown clock worked. It alternated between the
time and 2003 up until 11 PM when it switched to countdown mode. At
11:59 it beeped and then beeped once per second for the last 10 seconds.
When it displayed 2004 at midnight my neighborhood got a little louder
than normal, so I went outside and said greeted a couple neighbors.
Next year I'm going to make a much more grandiose display.
