Go to the Parallax site and look at their Serial EEPROM application. It uses
an 8K chip which will store 1024 bytes of data, and it is very easy to use.
I have a 512K EEPROM which is pin compatible with the application chip and by
just switching chips you can increase your data storage to 8192 bytes.

designated only for data storage (you cannot download and run programs
from these slots); that gives you 16K. Or you can go with any of the
various serial EEPROMs available, either in I2C or 3-wire modes. I2C
gives a lot of choices and the flexibility of the buss, but requires
more code unless you're using the BS2p or BS2pe.
