Anybody do this?
What's your design?
What's your design?

You serious?
I imagine you have some good reason for wanting to do this, but without
further explanation, I'm not sure anyone will be willing to help you.

Why would you want to fire a gun with a Stamp?
I have done a project that pulls a trigger, but not of a deadly
weapon.

fan; I have a bad history with electronics...
Once I was freeing a stuck mechanism in an inkjet printer (while it was
turned on) and suddenly the printing carriage sprung to life and bulldozed
my hand into the cartridge dock area. Another time, while I was soldering,
my robot project (with two 50-watt gearhead motors) woke up and drove into
my hand (the one with the 40W iron in it). Then, that same day, my
adjustable power supply circuit spontaneously self-destructed. Just
recently, my alarm clock setup (a Linux-based mobile computer hooked to a
big directional speaker mounted near my head) mysteriously lost the time and
decided to wake me, along with the rest of the house, up at 2:00 AM. About
10 minutes ago I got a shock from the VGA connector on my monitor, and to
top it all off, my Linux box just developed display erraticities, and my
Windows machine has gotten to the point where files such as mspaint and
sndrec mysteriously vanish at random intervals.
Uh-oh... I smell magic smoke, and I think I just heard my LaserJet mumble
something about revenge... gotta go!
If you survive your experiment, be sure to let us know; it'll be great for
the Parallax application archives...

trigger/firing pin system. It's basically just a circuit to charge a
high capacity photoflash type capacitor, which is in series with an
electromagnet. The electromagnet surrounds the firing pin. The trigger
is a proximity switch measured in a few ounces of pressure. The
proximity switch closes the circuit allowing the capacitor to discharge
across the electromagnet which results in the firing pin moving forward
at a very high rate of speed, firing the cartridge. I suppose a BS2
could be used to replace the charging circuit and be programmed to
simulate the proximity switch.

nephews paintball gun a pic a charging circuit all
trigered with a microswitch interesting but unless
exact timing is needed i think it could have ben done
alot simpler i have ben doing some looking around and
you would need alot of fail safes in a firearm unless
it has a good manual safty totaly locking out the
electronics trusting a simiconductor with it would be
crazy
