AD592 working?

I am working throught the series of experiments in the Earth
Measurements book and parts kit I bought. I have been enjoying it
very much. I have gotten to the experiment with the AD592 temp.
sensor. This is the first experiment I have not been able to get to
work. I have rechecked my circuit and program a number of times.
Yet, I get an rct value of 0 no matter what. Is there a simple
diagnostic I can do to validate that the AD592 is working? I read a
resistance across it of around 3Mohms. Is this normal?
Thanks for any help.

If you substitute a 100kohm resistor in place of the AD592, you
should get a reading from the RCTIME command of about 3000 to 4000.
100k 0.22uF
+5
/\/\--;---||
common x var word
| capacitor DO
| RCTIME 0,0,x
p0
/\/\--' LOW 0
100 DEBUG DEC x,cr
PAUSE 1000
LOOP
That should help to determine if the problem is with the sensor or
with the wiring.

The AD592 supplies a current of 1 uA per degree Kelvin.
So at 20 degree C there should be a current of 293.15 uA. If you have a
meter with a mA range you will be able to check it.
The AD592 has a 'plus' and a 'minus' so there could be your problem.
Succes,
Klaus
