Temp Sensor

I am trying to implent a temps sensor to the BS2 with a display in
my vehicle. I wasn't sure what was the best way to go. I see
parallax has 3 of them, 2 analog and 1 digital. Would the RC time
command be ok for this application? If I was looking for a .2
degree F resolution what would be the best way to go? Keep in mind
that the wires would have to be about 5 or 6 feet long.
Thanks,
Chris

for the accuracy you want, the RC time is not good enough, and is
actually fairly crude. The dallas 1620 chip is good for .5C, which
is like .8F, but is direct reading and I have had no problem reading
it with my bs2. National makes some accurate sensors, good to a
degree or better that put out analog signals that have to be
digitized with an A/D.

thermalcouple to digital converters. You mentioned a car so
thermalcouples can withstand the harsh conditions under the hood and
exposed to the elements.
