Weather Proof Limit Switch

I've just finished an outdoor intallation using Stamp to control 14
motors. This is my first time ourdoor experience. As a suggestion from
a friend I used limit switches to trigger start and stop. The rain
kept pouring for days and the water leaked into the switches. They are
supposed to be weatherproof. Does anyone knows of a REAL weatherproof
limit switch, military grade if possible?

Reed switches and magnets work nice for outdoor use. And they're cheap. (-:
Once the connections are made, they can be potted or dipped in epoxy
    to waterproof the connections.

Microswitch makes some weatherproof switches. you can get them at
    www.automationdirect.com

I use them in machines that get splashed a lot.

I also use proximity switches for sensing objects under water. Look at
    Automation Direct also.

These items will be in the $50-$100 range

In the workshop I used reed switches with magnets all the time. In
this situation there are a lot of metal assembly around the motor in
close proximity. The magnet and reed switch didn't work well.

Copy of my e-mail of Nov 29th.

Microswitch makes some weatherproof switches. you can get them at
    www.automationdirect.com
They have some generic switches too. They also work fine in high splash
areas. Not underwater but can take a good soaking. They are in the $25-$50
    range.

I use them in machines that get splashed a lot.

I also use proximity switches for sensing objects under water. Look at
    Automation Direct also.

These items will be in the $50-$100 range

    Hi!
I do not know exacly your application but the best weatherproof switch would be
a "reed switch" which is a magnetic switch as 2 small metal blades into a sealed
glass tubing. When the magnet get close to that, the 2 metal blades get
    attracted to
each other. They are cheaps and reliables. I used that several times for
    underwater
    applications.
