Multiple ic''s tied together

Devices with Chip Select lines are usually designed to share a common
"buss" -- so I would suggest sharing clock and data lines and allowing
separate control for the CS. Using this scheme you can expand your
system more easily to larger number of devices using common interface
chips (like the 74HC138) to expand your CS selection.

Subject: [basicstamps] Multiple ic's tied together

Hello,

To save on IO lines on my Stamp, I was thinking of tieing the cs and
clock lines together on identical A/D chips so only two lines are
needed to control all of them. The data line would go to it's own
separate IO port on the Stamp for each chip.

Is this right?
Thank you,
John
