Is there a way to access this group and get only the last page of
initial messages? I can get the last four messages on initial access
and than I have to wait an eternity for what seems to be random
amount of last postings. Sometime I get just one and than I have to
switch to thread and wait again to get full threads.

In short – I want to set some entry parameters to be able to load
(backwards, from the last entry, not from the start!) and see only
the last full page of initial messages, not the original message plus
all the messages associated with the thread.

I click 'Index', then click 'Last'.
This gives me the last full page of entries.
I can then click on the non-highlighted
entries, which are the ones I havn't read yet.

If you click on messages, there is a search window. put in a period,
just the dot -> . <- and hit enter.

yahoo includes a dot in every post so you see all posts, but in
reverse order. most recent is at the top of the page.
