I was using a ISD1000A playback ic with my stamp. I got it on
clearance at radio shack. I let the magic smoke out of it the other
day. Does any one nowhere I can get a couple more?

I buy a lot of stuff from futurlec.com they have some of the best
prices around but they don't have a huge selection relative to the
biggies like digikey but their prices are usually lower and I've
never had problems with them. They do have the ISD chips there, but
I'm not sure which ones... Go into the IC menu then the special
function section and then into the "other" section and you will find
them I do believe. You can get them at digikey.com and probably
mouser.com as well. They have some funky old stuff in stock at
futurlec.com, I bought a bunch of lm3909 led flashers there and
they've been obsolete for some time.. I buy a lot of MAX7219 led
matrix drivers there for $7.50 where digikey sells them for $10.81
