Microwebserv?

Argh, just spilled my coffee. Anyway.....
I noticed that Microwebserv is no longer on the Parallax site, and that CS
Micro's site is down. Has it gone kaput? Has anyone used it succesfully? I
am thinking of using it to put my weather station on-line.

Looks really cool, but a lot more than I am looking for. All I want to do is
to put the data from my weather station on the web. Any ideas on how to do
this, especially on a budget? This is a personal project, not a school one.

Isn;t there some way that StampDAQ could be used, and some sort of scripting
software to upload it periodically? Have any ideas on scripting software?

Something you might want to check out is the SitePlayer
(http://www.siteplayer.com/). I've used it with PIC processors, and it's
just serial I/O, so Basic Stamps should have no problem talking to it. It is
significantly cheaper than the Parallax version, (individual modules are
just $30) however the Parallax version looks much beefier and much more
flexible. And I guarantee that the support for the Parallax version is WAY
better.
The SitePlayer is very good if you have simple web pages that need
dynamic information updated from your micro (BasicStamp in this case). You
can do somewhat complex things with the data that's stored in the
SitePlayer's RAM in your webpages, but it only holds 48KB of web pages. It
also needs more external components than the Red-i, but it's not hard at all
to do.
There's a separate Yahoo Group for SitePlayer if you want help.

You can talk to your Stamp via the MSComm object and then use the web
related objects to broadcast your messages. I haven't used the web
stuff myself, but a friend tells me it's fairly straightforward. Those
discussions, though, are best for the VB support groups.
