Updating AC software?

I know this isnt really related to basic stamps but found no better
forum for this.

I have a Danby home comfort AC/Heater/fan in one, and there are some
things in the "software" I dont like:
-In fan mode, it will not let me set a temperature for it to stop
when reached
-In heater mode, the fan also stops when the desired temperature is
reached, I would like the fan to work all the time liek in AC mode

Is there any possible way to reprogram my AC or use a basic stamp to
make it work like I want?

Thanks

    No one knows?

It is a digital AC, isnt there a way to replace the CPU in it with a
basic stamp to add features like temperature control in fan mode?

    Thanks

I'm sure it's quite possible, but you're getting into tricky territory
with HVAC devices. If you miscontrol your HVAC unit you may end up with
a dead compressor or worse. A web search on HVAC controls would be a
    good place to start.

I've made a similar modification to my AC system. If you still need
help with this project, contact me at astumpf999(at)yahoo.com

    No.
Home AC controls are based on 24 volt DC stuff.
They HAVE to be reliable, or you burn your
house down -- and the Insurance company takes
a dim view of paying off on something that's
    YOUR fault.

Plus, there are many microprocessors, and none
of them have the same pin-out as a Stamp.

If the original designer of the control board
did not put in the needed hardware to hook up
a Stamp to it (and I'd be amazed if he did),
then you'd have to redesign a control board
with a stamp, and redo ALL the control software.
THEN you'd have a platform you could tweak.

That's why no one has responded, I believe.
It's just too unlikely to succeed.
