I asked parallax for advise on where to begin learning about prgramming with
practical mechanics for programming, So they advised to buy the "basic stamp
board" and "activity board" well I hooked it up to my computer and tried to
write a program, thats as far as it got, no results weather the program I wrote
was right.
could someone advise me (a beginner) how I could get started, preferably
using the basic stamp and the activity board that I had bought. can I use these
boards to program a basic robot, and which one???

Please advise, thanks. joe28532@y...

I began my 'Stamp' interest with the Tab Robots
"Sumo Bot" (not legal for Sumobot competition).
This is a very nice package which includes an
embedded BS2. Search the Forum on Tab Robot.

Since you already have the BOE, I would recommend
the "Analog and Digital" course. It comes with
parts, is very step-by-step, and does useful things
    you'll need later (like A to D conversion, D to A,
    a beeper, SHIFTIN/SHIFTOUT use, etc.)

    hi joe,

a good introduction to microcontrollers and the basic stamp (together with
the activity board) is to be found at:

Download and work through "What's A Microcontroller?" -- that will get
you going with the hardware you have.
