Where to get gears, axles, construction bits

I'm assembling various motors, lights and other bits that are part of
a Stamp project, but I need to use some gears and axles to tie it all
together. Previously I've used Steel Tec (aka Meccano) to "connect"
all the physical pieces together, but I've run out of Steel Tec.
Short of buying more Steel Tec from eBay, do you have any good ideas
on where I can get cheap gears, axles, pulleys, wheels, etc etc?
Thanks! - David
