For - LCD bias you can use a switched capacitor DC to DC convertor.
Maxim, TI, and Linear Tech makes parts just for negative LCD bias. If
you use a MAX232 on your product you can borrow negative voltage from
the part, a few hundred uA shouldn't affect the MAX232 operation.
