I used a Analog Motorola phone on my stamp project just fine. I would dial
in, give it commands, and the stamp would send me data. However, in the
last year I was force to go digital. The standard Nokia phone they tried to
give me did not support data so I upgraded to the one that supposively did.
They sold me the Nokia 7160 which will make data calls just fine, however it
will not answer data calls for anything. After pulling my hair out, Nokia
informs me the auto answer feature was never built into this phone!!!!
No-Wonder, it will not even answer with an ATA issued.
So, I no longer have the conveinence to play around. Can someone here offer
a model number that will autoanswer a data call so I can make sure I
purchase the proper phone for this project. It's on a Cingular Digital
Network if it matters.
