Having problem with Parallel printer and Printing
Archiver

Dear Friends
I connected the BS2 to printer by 74HC595, and running the code from
Files directory of this group.
I have two problems:
1) The printer doesn't print when it should, it waits and waits
suddenly it starts printing and prints to many copies of the text
that I ordered before.
Basically it put all of them in a memory or something and start
printing when I don't want to.
2) pin number 11 of the parallel connection (connected to
Printer) generates -4.5 volts. I read the pin out for that and
datasheet says
"11 Busy Input status register INVERTED High indicates printer
cannot accept"
Therefore, I do not know if it is my printer or what, but I connect
it to ground through a resistor and it kind of working.
I appreciate any help or suggestion
