relay banks

I'm looking for a supplier of reed relay boards which can be bank-
switched by a BS. This might be up to 96 relays or more, so size and
cost are a factor. I see lots of boards with relay banks for direct
control from a PC, but this application could be run by a stamp. Any
suggestions?

first question is if you need new. any commercial project should be
new units for a bunch of reasons. not the least of which is future
    replacemnts.

second, the stamp can control a multiplexer, and that can handle the
power for a darlington or possibly directly.

since PC controlled relays are usually 12 volts, you can use 12 volts
for the darlingtons and use those other boards/relays.

    Dave,

I agree that we shouldn't use junk parts for a project that needs to be kept
running into the future... and I don't mind spending money for some
pre-engineering that will save me a bunch of time. What I'm looking for is a
backplane/interface that will control banks of boards with 8 or 16 reed
relays each. I'm not going into production with this, so I don't want to
spend a huge amount of time engineering something that's already available.
I've seen a bunch of board-kits that will drive 8 relays from a parallel PC
port, but I really want to build this as a self-contained unit that can be
controlled via a remote pod with a Basic Stamp.

check out http://www.geocities.com/jimforkin2003/ for a pc board/design that
supports 8 inputs, serial in, program port,8 high current outputs for
    controlling relays, motors, etc.
