For control of dc relays (up to 48 volts coils) use the approach illustrated
on the web site here. You can switch dc or ac with the relay contacts.
That part of the circuit is totally isolated from the control side by using
the relay. You may also wish to use a solid state relay such as crydom
D1210 for 120vac at 10 amps or crydom D2410 for 240vac at 10 amp. Relays
are available to switch even higher voltages if you want. Just switch the
control side of the relay with dc voltage from 5 to 32 volts (+ to the power
supply and - side to the control transistor tied to the stamp. Just
remember to isolate the outputs of the stamps with a transistor switch so as
not to exceed the current limitations of the stamp.
