Serial Communication with Visual C++

Do you have any resources or refrences dealing with
Visual C++ serial communication with a BS2? We are
trying to do two things 1) use a Play Station 2
controller to control an ARobot, 2) collect data from
the AppMod compass and the Sensirion SHT11 and get it
back to the computer for display. We are using
parallax 27997 tranceivers for wireless communication
between the robot and base station BS2 which is
connected serialy to a laptop.
