Dear Friends

Does anyone have the schematic for connecting a Relay to basic
stamp? I have difficulties with pins of the relay. here is the
schematic of the relay.

1 2 3 4 5
- - \
- - /
1 9 8 7 6
0

pin 1 is negative and pin 10 is positive.

Sorry for the lousy schematic.

Is this a TQ 12VDC relay from Digikey?

Notwithstanding my TQ question, connect pin 10 to 5VDC . Connect pin 10 to
one of the output terminals on a ULN2003.When a high is sent to the
corresponding input pin of the ULN, the output pin goes to ground and the relay
    closes.
Send a low and it opens.

Need more info? Pins 2 and 9 are normally NC contacts. Pins 3 and 8 are
common. Pins 4 and 7 are normally NO. Pins 5 and 6 are not used and can be cut

    off.

The relay basically has two sections, a coil and the switch. You need to be
sure which is which. The following link gives a schematic that will work for
    almost any general purpose relay.

For the NPN you can use a 2n2222 transistor, for the diode a 1n4001 will
suffice, all can be had at radio shack or ANY electronics store (as some of us
don't consider radio shack an electronics store......<GRIN> )
