i would like to make the printer with the PARALLAX System

I any need to print a small report into the thermal printer (I don't know
the cheaper and small printer) about the operation.., but i don't know the

Damian,
It is often possible to find small inexpensive thermal printers on
E-bay and other surplus equipment sites. You will probably want to get
one with a serial interface and use serout from the Stamp.
The printers will just take ASCII characters and print them out. You
will need to check the manual to see how it deals with special
characters. Hope this helps.

If you do a DEBUG on pin 16 then the data will be transmitted on the
programming port at 9600 baud.

Just to add to that, you can do any baud rate on the programming
port, not just 9600, by using the SEROUT 16,baudmode,... commmand.
The baudmodes are the same as all the other Stamp pins, except that
the p16 is always inverted (rests at a low level, goes high for
data.) DEBUG is a special 9600 baud only form of SEROUT.

It looks like they don't want to give you
a simple answer. Here's one:

InvertMode CON $4000
' You need invert mode if using 232 driver.
' Pin 2 and 3 HAVE a 232 driver on them.

9600Baud CON 84 ' See BS2 Manual 2.0c, pg 277 for codes.

I9600 CON 9600Baud + InvertMode

SerPin CON 16 ' ACTUALLY, is module pin 2 and 3
' 2 for output, 3 for input (?or other way around?)
' you MUST connect both, because the output
' uses the +12 on the input for its 232 drive.

' For each message to be sent to the printer:

SEROUT 16, I9600, ["Print this for me",10,13]

' ,10,13 are LineFeed and Carriage Return.

Serial printers USUALLY use something like
1200, 2400, or 9600. Sometimes 300 -- you'll
have to test it. You may have to put
'PAUSE' statements between output statements,
so you don't over-run the printer buffer --
it usually prints much slower than you can
send it data, even with a BS2.
