sorry this is off topic but...

Hi all,

I know this is off topic but I asked this question to the vbbeginners
list and so far no one has answered

Does visual basic.net have the mscomm component built in, and if not can
I download it somewhere? I

have the msdn library and installed it all, but I can't find the
component. Thanks for your time, especially

since this is so off topic.

-Mike

I dont know a whole lot about vb.net but I do know that it uses a new
control for serial comms, not mscomm any longer. Don't know the new name -
just read a bit where it said if you use mscomm, it has to do extra tricks
and slow things down a tad.

Not sure, but to find out, do the following:

    1) Right click in the tools area
    2) click components
    3) Under the controls tab, check Microsoft Comm Control 6.0

Thanks for responding, however I know where it would be and its not
there. There is one component called COM Classes, I'm going to find out
    about that
    Today. Thanks again.
