There was a thread a few days ago about calculating the distance between
Point A and Point B.
Since I am such a good hearted soul, I dug up my old "Reference Data for
Engineers", (printed 1943) and resurrected the formula for Great Circle
Calculations.
It is quite a complex thing, but I got it entered in Excel. You enter the
lat and long of your departure and of your destination and Excel calculates the
Great Circle distance and the TRUE course to and from.
You're welcome to a copy, which includes a few explanatory notes. If you are
a Flight Sim fan, this is great for calculating flight plans.
