Ok to parallel LM2940''s ?

Ken,

The trouble is, I'm not sure. The project I am working on is a little
tricky. I need to get a PCB together before the school year starts, but the
project is still in the research phase. We may or may not wind up using a DC
to DC converter that would draw 2-3 amps, or we may not. So my plan was to
make the board with jumpers to able to configure the power supply in
different ways. Hopefully, and ideally, we could use the LM2940's
separately, with a common ground, of course. If we can't, I want to make the
board accommodate this. Are there any low dropout regs that can handle 3-4
amps?

Thanks,

Jonathan
