Hello,
I recently got a JDM Programmer and a 12C508A Microchip PIC. Can
someone please help me program this thing? How would I go about
doing that? The ICProg program gives me errors constantly. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Try a different forum......

sxtech@yahoogroups.com

and also go to www.sxlist.com (no, this is not a
sex sight...!!!)

www.sxlist.com is geared towards PIC's and the SX
sold by Ubicom.

I have never used a PIC but have done several projects with the SX. Not the
Basic Stamp SX, but the SX sold by parallax. Makes the Basic stamp (any
version) very slow by comparison, but not nearly as easy to program as the Basic

Stamps.

This discussion group is for Basic Stamps, not PICs. Here are a few
suggestions:

1) go to www.piclist.com and join the mailing list -- this is an
appropriate place to ask your questions.

2) Provide more detail about what exactly you are doing, when you get the
error messages, what they are, etc. It will not be possible to give you
useful help without additional details about the situation.

3) You may want to consider getting a programmer that is better supported.

4) Start with a different PIC. Get one with Flash program memory --
16F84A, 16F628, and 16F877 are good choices.
