Hello,
The first and second place finishers of the Electronics and Inventions
Competition used a BASIC Stamp in their design projects. Since the
projects are of such high quality and are interesting as well, we wanted
to share them with you. Parallax would like to extend applause and
congratulations to Shingo Miura, Matthew Larson, and all of the State
Fair participants on their projects!
****************
Project #1
****************
Shingo Miura made an electromechanical hand controlled by a BASIC Stamp
2p microcontroller. This device can be used for three different
functions; a finger spelling sign language robot, substitution for a
human arm, and a remote-controlled hazardous area hand robot.
****************
Project #2
****************
Matthew Larson used a backlit LCD to display the time, date, and the
temperature for a smart "alarm clock". The BASIC Stamp takes all of the
information from the clock and temperature IC's, interprets the data,
and then sends the code to the LCD display, or the servo motor.
