Hi All,
I am trying to get my laptop to work with my stamp but I don't have the
correct serial port. I have a LP1 port which the software doesn't want to
recognize.
What do I need to do to fix this problem? Are there different drivers
available? What sort of tests can I perform to determine what the problem
may be?

Some Labtops over ride the Serial port to run a ir port. One thing thatg might
help is you might have to disable the ir port and re-enable the serial port in
the device manager in order to download to the basic stamp. if that dosn't work,
some retail stores like radio shack offer a usb to serial cable, but i'm not
shure if that works or not. Good Luck

a BS1, that's what you need. If you're working with a
BS2, you need a working serial port (COM1).
So, which stamp are you trying to interface?
What board do you have it plugged in to?
