Initialising a Sandisk MMC memory card

The thread "BS2 to Sandisk MMC memory card" in early
2002 described a problem I have in initialising a mmc card...
1. chip select high 2. send 80 clocks 3. ..etc.
Seems quite trivial but .......
It wasn't clear whether the poster ever resolved the
problem.
Has anyone successfully managed it?

YES IT IS EASIER TO READ.
I AM USING A MICROCONTROLLER WITH AN SPI BUS
WITH A FIFO BUFFER (msc12100) AND SO WOULD LIKE
TO WRITE TO THE SPI ON THE MMC CARD FROM THE
SPI PINS.
