Has anyone tried out the Dataflash memories from Atmel? I've been checking
the datasheets etc and I can't seem to find what the write cycle life is.
Normal flash is usually 10k writes, anyone know what dataflash' is?

I use dataflash in my loggers. I've never gotten a firm answer about
the write cycle life (which they call "endurance"). Data
"retention", which is how long it will hold onto a bit of information
without refresh, is rated as 10 years. Endurance is not an issue in
the kind of slow data logging I am doing. They do suggest refreshing
pages that have not been used for a while, at least once every 10,000
cycles. For example, if you store some parameters on page 0, and
then proceed to write to other pages 10000 times, then you should
come back and refresh page 0. This is all in their app notes and
FAQs.
