This is slightly off topic, but I thought that stamp enthusiasts in the San
Francisco area -- or those who can get there -- would find this announcement
interesting. It will be an outstanding event!

Subject: [MiniSumoMarkIII] RSA - July Robot News and Events

ROBOT GAMES & EXPO - SUNDAY JULY 27 IN SAN FRANCISCO!

From NASA explorers to homemade robots, the RSA Robot Games and Expo has it
all!

Yea, yea, yea, I know... These robo-event e-mails are always filled with
hyperbole, but this event really will knock your socks off!

Or double your servos back!

See demonstrations, displays, and a multitude of ingenious competitors. The
event will feature robot related videos, lectures, displays, interactive
bots, and other great events from robot companies, groups, garage-based
mad-scientists, and multi-million dollar research organizations. If you
can't make robodex in Tokyo, make it to the RSA Games (how's THAT for
salesmanship?)

WHERE: Ft Mason - map : http://www.robotics-society.org/ftmason
HOW MUCH: $10 for adults, kids are free!
QUESTIONS? 03-07@r...

REGISTRATION
Not that anyone ever listens to me, but please register your robot. I'm
making it very simple:

JUST SEND US AN E-MAIL: reg-2003a@r...

Include your name, your robots name, and the competition (mini-sumo,
ant-weight, best of show, etc.).
IF YOU CAN'T COME YOURSELF, SHIP YOUR ROBOT AND WE'LL COMPETE IT FOR YOU AND
RETURN IT WITH ANY
PRIZES YOU WIN! IF YOU WIN OR PLACE, WE'LL PAY TO SHIP IT HERE AND BACK.

If your just want to show off your robot and not compete, email me and we'll
arrange for you to bring it. We'll even let you in for free and give you a
pretty four-color collectible badge (unless your name is Peter Abrahamson.)

FUJITSU'S HOAP FLIES TO AMERICA
Thanks to the efforts of Cliff Thompson, we have an amazing guest for the
Summer Games - Fujitsu's $75,000 HOAP walking robot! Do not miss this chance
to see it!
http://www.labs.fujitsu.com/en/theme/robot/robot.html

SINGAPORE TEAM TO COMPETE!
Once again, Ngee Ann Polytechnic will be bringing a team of students and
teachers to compete in the 3 kg sumo class. For those who remember, this
fantastic group competed at our Spring Games last year at the Exploratorium.
If they can take the time and money to fly all the way across the Pacific,
you can field your own 3 kg sumo - even if you have to upgrade your 500g
mini or build a new one!

This is a great opportunity to test your full sized sumos! I'm upping the
prize money to $300 for 3 kg sumos. The winner of the 500g mini-sumo
competition will still pull in $100.

VENDORS AT GAMES
There will be lots of vendors at the games - both selling robots as well as
just demonstrating them. So if you've been thinking about buying a robot, or
just need some parts for your tool box, don't forget your checkbook!

SUBSCRIBE!
You're getting this e-mail because you're on a list-serve or yahoogroup. We
have a much better, HTML formatted version with even more stuff (which
doesn't include this disclaimer.)

No really, it's worth it. I only send out this thing 14 times a year, and
it's all about robots. You'd like it.

Would I lie?

OK, don't answer that. Just subscribe:
