I'm buying a OEM Basic stamp 2 tomolo. Just wan to know if it is
capable of taking serial bits output from the modem, convert and
output them in parallel form. Or do I need to buy NCD 101 serial-to-
parallel converter chip?
Thanks!

Setup:
DIRL = %11111111
Main:
DO
SERIN 15, Baud, [aByte]
OUTL = aByte
LOOP
You'll just need to set the baud rate for your serial stream. The
program makes pins 0 - 7 outputs then puts the serial byte on them after
it comes in.

school project. I'm using a PC to send 7 bits of
binary data over e phone line to a standalone modem.
It's RS232 port will be connected to a BS2 . This 7
serial bits will be input to e BS2. Here r e functions
which I wan my BS2 to perform. Can I check with u if
they r attainable?
1)Check for incoming data.
2)Perform 1 bit error parity check.
3)Close e connection.
Thks!

Yes, you can certainly do that. Your code can be as
