Thanks John
great chip i just ordered it, but i got a couple question about it
in the pdf documentation on simple motor control, in the serout statement
you use
48 + motor control, so why 48
and whoud you have a more complete example of an hbridge control program
thanks great chip and good timing

The demo code uses 48 + MotorNum so that you can change the MotorNum
constant and not have to change multiple SEROUT lines. The ASCII
character for "0" is 48, so with MotorNum values of 1 to 4, that
expression will evaluate to "1" to "4". Think of

    48 + MotorNum

    ...as a number-to-ASCII conversion.

Please keep in mind that the purpose of documentation is to explain the
features of a product, but not necessarily to show every possible
iteration of those features. As with most other products we've
developed, there will be specific application notes that follow; most
likely an H-Bridge application will be among them. I was exploring
possible configurations for control just yesterday.

    John,

How about an example of a really big mosfet h-bridge, something that would
do say 20 amps dc at 8-24 volts, and an example software for real time
control with reversing and of course the variable speed.

It probably won't be any time soon (from us) because we focus on small
robots -- 20 amps would make any of them turn into a small, smoldering
    pile of carbon.

But I'll bet there are more than a few Stamp users that do what you're
looking for. For the person who creates the first really good app that
meets Bill's need, I could probably offer up a nice little prize. Any
    takers?

There are so many circuits available (including several in Matt
Gilliland's Microcontroller Application Cookbooks -- that we publish)
for low-voltage motors that it really wouldn't be contest -- just who
could submit a schematic first. The contest will apply to high-voltage,
    high-current motors.

    Thanks Jon,

i will refrased my request... i also have dozens of hbridges
    circuits,
no want i would like, is the listing of a small program that control
the 4 directions of a small robot using any hbridge and your new
pwmpal circuit. I'm over sixty and got no problem with electronics,
but got a hard time with programming and i really want to learn...
    thanks in advance.

Here is the best one I could find so far, there are several variations of
the controller for different d.c. voltages. It has a pwm input lug, 2 for
direction, one for on/off, so 3 stamp lines per motor if you are using
another chip for pwm like the pwmpal.

Any
    takers?

    John,

How about an example of a really big mosfet h-bridge, something that
would do say 20 amps dc at 8-24 volts, and an example software for real
time control with reversing and of course the variable speed.

    Thanks John

great chip i just ordered it, but i got a couple question about it

in the pdf documentation on simple motor control, in the serout
    statement you use

    48 + motor control, so why 48

and whoud you have a more complete example of an hbridge control program

thanks great chip and good timing

    William,

I looked the site over, it isn't cheap when you consider I'd need 3
independent motor controllers, but might work, do you have a link to the
logic input specs of the OSMC motor controller? Take a look at the link on
my previous post and tell me what you think.
    Here it is again.

No all you have to do is hook it up using a BASIC Stamp and the PWMPAL.
Once you get it working you can claim your prize.

Here is the best one I could find so far, there are several variations
of the controller for different d.c. voltages. It has a pwm input lug,
2 for direction, one for on/off, so 3 stamp lines per motor if you are
using another chip for pwm like the pwmpal.

Any
    takers?

    John,

How about an example of a really big mosfet h-bridge, something that
would do say 20 amps dc at 8-24 volts, and an example software for real
time control with reversing and of course the variable speed.

    Thanks John

great chip i just ordered it, but i got a couple question about it

in the pdf documentation on simple motor control, in the serout
    statement you use

    48 + motor control, so why 48

and whoud you have a more complete example of an hbridge control program

thanks great chip and good timing
