Dear ...
i have Project Next Week and i have these Question about the Basic
Stamp:
1) what is the Diffrence b/w the Basic Stamp and the PIC
MicroControler? " i know that it cheap than the basic..."but what i
wanna know why we use the Basic Stamp ??? where is the best in
it...??
2) what is the Application and the Education in useing the Basic
Stamp ?
3) how the LCD Work With The Basic STamp?and the Board??
i know that there are alot in Parralex..
but what i wanna to know how it is work with the borad..???
4)what is the Best Deffintaion Of Basic STamp?
5)if u have any Good Application about the Basic stamp to Present it
in my Project???
Plz if there are any One can Help me ...

    Lala,
    My suggestion is if you have never used a microcontroller that you start
    off with the basicstamp. Parallax full supports there product and will help
    your needs. The nicest part about the Basicstamps is that you don't need to
    buy compilers and programmers that can cost you hundreds of $. The BS hooks
    directly up to your serial port for programming using there free software
    provided by Parallax. If you have any questions post them on this board if
    another user is unable to answer it someone from Parallax more that likely
    will. I hope this helps you out.

    Hi

    1) and 4) A BS (basic stamp) is a microcontroller with additional
    electronics to make the MC (microcontroller) easy to use.
    This comes at the expense of flexibility and speed and of course the
    price of the single unit.
    Furthermore the BS contains a Basic interpreter to make program
    development easy. MCs are usually programmed in machine code. Thus
    you need an assembler or compiler (basic, c).

    However, if you are new to MC/BS, don't be fooled by the price of a
    single unit. $50 for a BS is in fact cheaper than $2 for a MC
    considering the ease of use of the BS. If you need fast success and
    do not have the requirements for a MC, stick to the BS.

    3) A word to LCDs. There are basically two brands out there.
    Parallel LCDs and serial LCDs. If you have a choice, get a serial
    LCD, they are far easier to use with a BS and need just one pin.
    Parallel LCDs usually need 8 of them.
