question about linking the basic stamp to air valves .

I'm thinking of a project which controlling the solenoid air valves
using the basic stamp .The air valves
are using DC 24v to activate .I currently have the power supply for
it .
So ,I'm thinking of using transistor to let the basic stamp sending
the 5v or 0v signal to the transistor and activate the air valves
.When i search the internet ,i can't
find the transistor product which suits the 5v and 24v .Can you help
me to find its catalog or details in
the internet ?Should I need some electronic circuit to adjust the
transistor to suit my needs?Or is it got
any other method which is better then using the transistor ?
thanks a lot.

times. Here is a board/schematic which will work for you. This particular
board has 1 programming input, 1 serial input, 7 inputs, 8 high current
switched outputs and LEDs to monitor the outputs and uses any of the 24pin
stamp modules such as BS2, BS2sx, etc.

> I have done this by using small latch relays with 5 volt 260 ohm coils
I purchesed from all electronics[reverse to unlatch] they seem to work fine.
hope that helps
