is there a chip or small board solution that would change stamp level rs232 to
fiber and also allow for a one way ntsc video signal? Otherwise I have to have
both a rs485 pair as well as a video fiber ???

requires a multiplexer to convert the NTSC video from the camera and
transmit it down the fiber, as well as multiplex a 232 channel from
the camera back to the receiver.
At the receiver end, there is a similar demultiplexer to re-convert
the NTSC video from fiber to co-ax, and pull out the 232 channel.
I havn't heard of a simple (less than $200) way of doing this.

me one for a couple hundred (but it was video only, no bi-directional data)
that wasn't bad. I can't seem to find them on the net. Will keep looking
on the net and share what I find.
