I am using a SHT15 sensor with a BS2 setup. My question is how far can I
seperate the sensor from the BS2 bread board?

Thanks,
Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

I've positioned the SHT15 as much as 2 meters away from the BS2 and
still had good readings. I've not tried to determine the limit, but
if I had push it, I'd look at the signal degradation on an
oscilloscope. The data line has a passive pullup resistor that
limits the slew rate, so decreasing that resistor value could
increase the length of wire that could be driven. The SHIFTOUT and
SHIFTIN commands move bits at a rate of about 16 kilohertz on the
BS2/BS2e/BS2pe. There could be an issue of noise pickup.

    Kevin,

I have put the data output from a SHT11 over 60' feet through a 2 wire plus
ground shielded cable. The power supply for the SHT is local, and the ground
wire ties both systems togther. Rock solid, no problems.

    Kevin-
Sensirion, the manufacturer of the SHT 15 makes an identical unit
called the SHT75 , identical except it is installed on the end of a
four-pin plug. I'm fooling around with the SHT11 sensor, but in the
real world, I'm gonna use an SHT15, hung off the end of a cable.
