That's the idea. Keep in mind that this is still a Beta release and we need
your feedback if you find any problems. Our compiler engineer, Jeff, has done
a great job with this. That said, Windows and installations on various
systems can be tricky, so if any of you experience any quirks, please let us
    know
    via this e-mail address:

Thanks, and do enjoy Jeff's hard work.

I'd like to see three little lights for each of the sixteen stamp pins
showing whether the pin is high, floating or low when you havea lot of pins
to monitor with debug, some lights would sure help.

    Bill -

You might want to invest in a logic probe. They're not terribly exensive.

as im using a lot of stamp pins in my project, and they change status as I
press the arrow keys on the at keyboard for directional control of the
robot, I wouldn't benefit too much from a logic probe ,,too many pins, (9 at
least) i don't think. It would be nice to have the lights so that i can see
the status in real time as i change direction. Is there a technical reason
why that can't be done? Can the stamp tell us via it's serial port what
the status of its pins are and direct that to some graphical led's? A set
of 3 for each pin? Is there software that will do that that doesn't require
    a second mortgage? lol

In order to do that the Stamp would have to continuously send the state of
DIRS and OUTS -- and this would slow performance. Probably better to insert
appropriate DEBUG statements as you're developing your program. With
    conditional
compilation directives, these are easy to enable/disable. Like this:

    #DEFINE ShowDEBUG = 1 ' 1 = On, 0 = Off

Then, in the body of your program:

    #IF ShowDEBUG #THEN
    DEBUG HOME,
    BIN16 ? DIRS,
    BIN16 ? OUTS
    #ENDIF
