Hi, any hints how to program this IR would be really
appreciated.

    The GP2D12 is not programmable. It is also an analog output
    device which means you need an A/D converter to use it with a
    Stamp.

    If you prefer, we have a digital version of this sensor that connects
    directly to a Stamp and includes sample code:

    please refer to my post on the 22 may,
    what i need is do i need to build a map of distance in eeprom
    and a hint how to used it with stamp

    Acroname should have some hookup and code examples, and the spec sheet for
    the device should give you a graph relating to distance versus output.

    If you download the manual from the AIRRS (plain GP2D12) or
    DIRRS+ (digital version) on our website, ther is a full discussion of
    output vs. distance, including graphs and formulae for caluculating
    it on the fly.
