John:
The mesage that I posted was not meant to put anybody on the
defensive. I thought it was a fairly straight forward question but a
lack of proof reading on my part let some errors get throught. Message
should have read -
"In the past I have found the prices, availability of various products
that I have ordered very good. But...
A couple of days ago I tried to place a telephone order for a couple
of hundred dollars worth of merchandise and they refused to take an
order over the telephone. The only option that I was offered was to
use the online website. Is this policy cast in stone?"
I saw a posting by the president of hvw on this list since then so I
guess he chose not to respond.
Anyways - the good news is that after phoning Digi-Key and confirming
availability, prices and aprox delivery times, they had no problems
processing phone orders. There is slight downside , slightly highter
prices and delivery times .

here on the group. But that's the good thing about this place, everyone
deserves an opinion, you have yours and I have mine. One of us is
right!
