been interested in the idea of trying this for some time especially
a few sketches of automaticed circuits lately.

I still can't quite decide on which one to try with for both starter
and further expansion: BS2e, BS2sx, or BS2p24 (I'm thinking about
the last two?)

also what is this '5x5 keyboard' from parallax just like since I
can't find a screenshot or much info on it now? thanks

oh and a last quick wonder I had was about if anyone know about a
small cam>display circuit or my best bet is to just find a older
working videocamera and trim the excessives off then detach the
viewer piece? thanks (by the way I know someone some time ago who
took two old videocamera and did this to them then mount the viewers
to a small headwear before stucking the two videocamera cases
together and having amusement with getting "distorted" (like the
videocamera is making you view yourself haha))

if you're wondering, I have been in a lot of electronic kit boards
before and a few breadboard ones so I thought it interesting to try
BASIC stamp (same meaning as a PIC chip right?).

    1. The Basic Stamp (BS2) IS PIC based, but is programmed
entirely in PBasic. It runs slower than a PIC, but
solves LOTS of problems (saves LOTS of time) with
    power, crystal oscillators, compilers/debuggers
    downloaders, etc.

Basically you get a completely debugged hardware
design, with a completely debugged software
    development environment.

For an initial purchase I recommend the full
    Board Of Education (BOE) package.

    2. Parallax sells a version of the CMUCam for the
BS2. See their site at www.parallax.com. They
also have many downloadable examples in their
    'nuts and volts' section.

    3. X-10 sells a very nice, battery powerable, very
small, RF-driven camera which I have seen people
put into HO-scale train engines. You might
    check this out.

thanks...and you could say that yesterday I learned a bit about
    EEPROM too ;-)

I was wondering about the starter kit I saw on the robotstore.com
    site here http://www.robotstore.com/catalog/display.asp?pid=199 but
I'm happy to take any comments because we know I'm just starting out
    here.
