this might work ,,,, send 15 to 20 volt on the wire -
have a 12 volt regulator [ LM7812 ] to supply the STAMP
and the 12 volt lamps ......
then level shift your data between the high level and
12 volt
At the " receiving " STAMP use a level compare to " strip
off " the data
ie: 15 to 20 volt is = 1 12 volt = 0

OR

this might work - - - At the receiving STAMP you have a 12
volt Gel - Cell
send 12.5 to 13 volt this keeps the Gel - Cell charged
... When you send data
your " 0 " is the [ 12.5 to 13 ] turned off .... the
receiving STAMP and the 12 volt lamps
run off the Gel Cell ... when the data line is high the
" charge voltage " is on

A solid state relay can handle the 110 AC to a small
battery charger
At the " receiving " STAMP the 12.5 to 13 is
first connected to a
Optical isolator " strips off " the data then the 12.5
to 13 is passed through a
diode to keep the Gel - Cell charged ,,,, in fact
depending on the current draw
of your 12 volt lamps ? some " super - caps "
might work instead of a Gel - Cell

Good Luck
