issues/questions with BS1 and Little Step-U

I currently am unable to get my step-u to control my motor whatsoever.

I have the BS1 stamp with the Super Carrier Board, I plugged the Step-
U into the board on the second column from the rest of the chips
(make
note that I got rid of the trace where Vom+ and Vom- are factory
connected).

I think the problem may be in my program, however, I do not have a
decent 'model' program that I can look at for a starting point.

Does anyone have a VERY simple step-u program that is PROVEN to
work on the BS1 stamp??

Also, for SEROUT to work do I need to be passing information
physically
from the serial port on the computer to the serial port on the
carrier
board OR can I use the supplied Parallel --> 3 header pin connection
for
SEROUT transfer?
