"Plug and play" temperature sensors?

Apologies if this is not appropriate for this forum but hopefully
someone may be able to steer me in the right direction. As a non
techo do not want to have to assemble anything, write code etc – ie
want take it out of a box and plug in!

Two queries
First one:
Our village is putting in a web cam and we want to include the
temperature on the picture. The supplier of the web cam software has
replied to our question with:
"I would suggest writing the outside temperature into a file and
then use the "file" tag from within a ConquerCam caption to read it,
e.g.
{file("temperature.txt")}"
Where can we find a temperature sensor to do this? ie plugs into the
PC and stores the temperature as a .txt file?

Second one:
For home use want to take the video from the front door camera and
again insert the temperature into the picture.(We have this video
available on all TV's in the house). XBOB looks as though it is part
of it and they have advised me:
"In general, you will need a smart interface such as a
microcontroller module or PC to read your temperature sensor and
format the data for display by BOB-3 or XBOB"
Again where can I find a temperature sensor to do this? ie plugs
into the XBOB to supply the data?

Appreciate any help.
