Coax Relay

I am wanting to find a source for some coax relays. I want to switch
on and off the cable coming into certain room in my home. Plan is to
have the basic stamp do the switching for me at certain times.

There are some RF switches on chips IIRC, but you will need to build
a circuit board to mount them.

One of your best bets may be to purchase a cheap RF A/B switch and
attach a motor or servo which can be controlled from the stamp.

There are some comercial broadcast units (read very expensive) here:

Since these are designed for broadcasting, they have a 50 ohm
impedance versus the 75 ohm impedance for the cable TV system. You
will probably have signal loss.

Check http://www.homecontrols.com , they have an A/B switch that is
switched by applying power to the included wall-wart. You can ditch the
'wart and just provide +9VDC to the unit via a stamp pin (and transistor
or relay).

In the old days, video switchers used normal single pole relays to make and
break the center conductor of the coax and had all the shields tied
together.
